Wal Mart is having their year end clearance of fertilizers in my area. Most are half off. I picked up a few bags of Burpee Garden Coir for $2, Worm Castings 5 lbs for $2, The Dynamite in the tomato shaped jar for $2 (probably cheaper to buy the large bag on Amazon). Tomato Tone 8lbs for $5 (did not buy). They also had Alaska Tomato food small bag for $3 and did not buy. My garden was dug by a racoon using these, not ready for that again.

Missed the shiny tape for $1. and passed on a blow up snake for $1. Don't want to scare myself silly every morning.

Oh noooo. haha. I need some of those listed. I'm up to 20 bucks.
I'll stop there. 20% is not that great but should cover shipping.
I stocked up at a garden center in August for 60% off. But they
did not have the entire selection.

Thank you for the heads up!

That's the new Grow Italian and I'm delighted to see they have added more tomato varieties than when they started out..

The original Grow Italian was owned by Bill McKay,whom I knew very well,he was based in MA with his website and I always wondered what happened to him.

Maybe a month or so ago I found him at Houzz, contacted him there and told him to come to Tville. He said he once was a member here but since his e-mail he used to join was out of date he decided to reregister here, and I have yet to see him appear here in Town Hall.

Bill used to grow every darn thing he grew before he even put the seeds up for sale. When it was time to retire he moved to FL and was asking a question at Houzz that I could answer,so that's how we got back together. I had to laugh when he said they have many more diseases down here than I ever had in MA.

He made it known that he wanted to close his original website, and had several who wanted it, and it went to a husband and wife couple somewhere in the midwest. That'sprobably at the new website,I forgot to look.

So fingers crossed that his name,he said his user name would be grow italian, will appear in Town Hall soon.

The new owners recently moved the business to a new location, but they still use the same seed suppliers. They have had an excellent reputation and it is nice to see folks keeping up a business "true to its roots."

Bills site was where I bought my very first ever tomato seeds. At the time I was putting together my order I read his on-line newsletter where he had just reviewed the newest cherry tomato offering from Franchi Seeds and said it was his new favorite, so I bought a pack. It has been a staple in my garden ever since. And from what I can tell, it is very different from recent Franchi cherry offerings.

I have since ordered from the new owners and they seem to be keeping the same level of customer service and quality of seeds as Bill used to offer.

http://www.growitalian.com/pages/About-Us.html

Above is a link to the new owners about us, which I thought was a very nice gesture to make for Bill.

I tried to go back and recapture Bill's original site but I couldn't do it. I suppose if I went to that wayback site I could, but I see no need for that at all.

We have new owners and those who have interacted with them seem very pleased and I think that's all that counts.
