Thanks for the post, it made me recheck my GG plants. It looks like I have the correct one in the ground.

All but one of my Green Giants came up with leaves shown in the first picture, which I’d call PL. One though had only one cotyledon that was folded in half on a twisted stem. The plant stayed that way for about three weeks so I thought that was it, the only thing it was going to do before it died.

Now finally it has it’s first true leaves and they are very different from the others. They are smoother, rounder and twisted or folded over. I’ll have to find a spot to grow it and see what or if it produces.

Which one looks like your GG (anyone)?

The first pic is regular leaf. Second pic looks potato leaf, but seems to be missing its growing tip; it should put out side shoots, if so.

Even when very young, potato leaf seedlings have entirely smooth edges, with no serration at all.
