Default kidney beans

I'm harvesting kidney beans and I was wondering what would be the best way to preserve them.

Can I freeze raw kidney beans or should I boil them first? Why?

Dry them until they are hard...either in the pod hanging on the plant until the pod is crispy dry or spread them out on a tray/rack that gets air all around it. After shelling them(taking them out of the pod) be sure to store them in an enclosed container to keep bugs away. Soak the beans later either in water or stock and they will swell up and soften, so you can eat them.

They also can be frozen as is or canned when freshly picked. Do not boil them first...they would loose flavor.
