Default Copper or Daconil

Which fungicide would serve as the better preventative to apply after a good rainstorm? I had sprayed with Neem/soap/potassium bicarbonate a couple days ago but we got over an inch and half of rain last night. I had three plants with just a couple leaf spots which I removed and that's why I treated a couple days ago. Which would better to apply tonight or doesn't it matter?

just get something on... I don't think it matters, but we use both and then a few more... alternating so disease resistance doesn't happen... hopefully. Also use a spreader sticker for greater efficacy. it stays on the plant longer and therefore works longer. we use nufilm P or nufilm 17 depending on the crop. You have to read the label and see which you would need. Nufilm 17 has a much longer harvest interval. I am sure there are plenty others to use so just research them.

Agreed. I've been using SM-90. It's $18 a quart, but I only use about a tablespoon per gallon of spray.

For me it would depend on whether you are trying to prevent the common fungal foliage diseases, in which case IMO Daconil is the best choice,or trying to prevent the common bacterial foliage diseases in which case IMO Copper would be best.

And if both the fungal and bacterial pathogens are a problem at the same time, then alternate between the two.

Carolyn, and consider Mancozeb to alternate with copper as well.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll have to look into the sticky agents for the future. But for tonight I'll roll with Daconil since my leaf spot issues are almost always Septoria. It's been a dry summer so I'm doing well in that regard and I'd like to keep it that way.
