Taking inspiration from b54red and Wally McGee, I built the following trellis. Upright 8 foot 1 1/4 pvc standing on metal fence posts, with a 10 foot rebar stuck through holes drilled in them. Cheap and easy, and needs no ties or other connexions. The ribs on the rebar mean that the rebar will not slide once installed.

The first pic is the backyard bed, and the second is the front yard, with pvc painted green.
