Besides a food bank, there are also places such as The Mission here that house and feed homeless people, and don't forget the senior centers or the meals on wheels people. A church is a good place to arrange to leave a free basket with produce or plants for the taking. Adopt a grade school class and donate plants to them to take home and grow.

Here are some ideas on what to do with the tomatoes: * Pickle and can them. If they're firm cherries, they're probably great for that. * Use them to assist in making chile sauce.The Ball Blue Book of Preserving has a lot of cool recipes. * Dry them. |
