Large growing pots from pallets
In our garden, there is not much cultured soil for growing vegetables - tomatoes in particular. To solve this problem, my husband designed and hand-made large pots from American pallets.
Last year, we used 3 pallet pots for the first time. Tomatoes, peppers and pumpkines grew perfectly there. Therefore, this year we added two more pots. You can see everything under following link: http://filipka61.rajce.idnes.cz/Boxes_in_garden/ |

They look very nice. They are just raised beds with aeration.
probably you have to water them often. |

Seems to work well, and looks nice, too. Do you have a hard time reaching to the center of the beds?
Nice to have your helpers there, too- always good company. |

That's a nice idea--looks quite neat and organized. I would think it'd help curtail incursions from any small furry garden pests, too (rabbits and the like...though from the looks of it your cat and dog are capable tomato guardians!)

Beautiful results! I really enjoy seeing the creative use of available materials. Nice animals too!
