Default Hornworm?

Hi,
I'm a newbie here and asked a few questions about my container tomatoes and why they had flowers but no fruit. That question was answered (too hot) but now I've had 2 hornworms in 2 days. Where do they come from and how do I get rid of them and will they come back? I only have two 'matoes and I don't want them to die. Both of these ugly creatures was on the cherry tomato plant. It's the plant which has produced some fruit. Oh, and as far as I know, no one else within blocks has any tomato plants. Can these worms "sniff" out the only plants in the area?

BTW, after it cools down a little and the worms leave, will my plants provide any 'matoes?

Any advise is welcome.
