Strange, I thought I had pasted the link into my above post, but I guess not!

These are some of the links I've tried lately.
I guess I'll try from my home PC tonight!

Hopefully it is just the IT department at work flexing their muscle indiscriminately.

I'm glad Tania's site is up.

Corey, the above one is the main home page site that I use and from that main one you can go to any of the others that you posted above.

Seldom have I ever seen Tania's site down. Once when there was a power outage and a couple of times when it wouldn't come up and I went to Google and got in that way to the main page.

Tania does work, she doesn't do tomatoes ALL the time , and if there are temporary problems with the website during the day she corrects the problems ASAP when she gets home but I've found such problems are rare indeed.

Thnaks very much, Carolyn. Google sent me to that "t.tatania" address, and I can't get in there either.

I'll try from home tonight and post here whether I succeed or fail.

The error I see here is a very generic browser fault:
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
 •
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
 • There might be a typing error in the address.

The problem is likely the "88" in
http://t.tatianastomatobase.com:88/

That is a non-standard tcp port for http (web servers usually use
80 or 8080), and many institutional and organizational firewalls
block it as unneeded by any of the software that they use.

At home, you can usually reach it because your firewall lets tcp
connects to any port number through (unless you have
configured it to block certain port numbers for services that
have known security issues, like "useful for ip spoofing", etc).
At work, they probably take the opposite approach: block
everything, tcp and udp, and only let connects through to
standard ports for remote services that they know their users
need to access.

edit: You may be able to get there from work using a public
www proxy server, but sophisticated firewalls may recognize
them and block access to non-standard http ports through
those, too. See http://proxy.org/

Are you using the same link I posted?
your IT department may be blocking web traffic on port 88 - this will explain the issue. You can try to use a proxy server to work around the problem.

You can go to http://helpmesurf.net/ , type tatianastomatobase.com in the text box there and see it it works.

Thanks very much, tania, and THANKS for your Database! It's the best.

Instead i'm going to access TomatoBase from home, and not get IT interested in why I'm trying to work aorund their security.

They do have real concerns, not just "Victoria's Secret", with our military and proprietary and non-foreign-access projects.

They might think I'm trying to sell military secrets to the "Black Russians", and think that "tomato" is a code-word for who-knows-what.

(I THINK I'm exaggerating, but not quite sure.)

Odd, I get the same error from my home PC. I easily believe it is the TCP port "80" or "88". O didn't think I had set any of my Internet Explorer options to be restrictive, but I do have a freeware firewall installed, and that may be "helping" me.

I'll keep trying.

Again: I loved your website while I could get to it!

I haven't placed an order yet, but I agree with everything Sandra said. I have been reviewing Tania's online tomato seeds and will place an order before the end of the year.

I really like the fact that Tania lists the original source of her seed. Given that there have been seed related issues with Box Car Willie, Cuostralee, Cour de Bue and others, I think other commercial seed sources should follow Tania's lead and list original sources for the seeds they sell. Then a potential buyer can make an educated decision as to whether or not they want to buy the seed. Keep up the good work, Tania.

Dear folks,

Due to the tomato garden disaster I had this summer, I will not be offering lots of new varieties this year (just a few that survived plus the ones I got from my local friends who wanted to help me with the losses and brought plants to me). Therefore my 2012 catalog will look very similar to 2011 catalog, with the exception of the sold out varieties.

I will update the 2012 PDF catalog in September. The online catalog is always up-to-date, as I remove the sold out varieties once I ship the last packet.

Thank you folks for all your support, especially in the difficult times that I have had lately!

Tatiana

Tania, I was reading in another thread about your health challenges - I am sooo out of date but I truly wish you a whole bunch of wellness as you gradually get your energy back! I can recommend meditation (eg, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Pema Chodron) CDs from soundstrue.... I have LOVED listening to various lectures and my stress levels continue to fall as I practise "mindfulness". Not at all what I thought meditation was about - it's so rich and meaty!

Sounds like I'm describing tomatoes
