Had the good fortune of the state Department of Ag come out and take drone shots of my pollinator planting from last year.
There's 3 row of different native perennials. All are 600' long.

Spectacular butterfly, Aunt Jane. He has "eyes" on his wings.

Salsa, yes, Echinacea purpurea 'Magnus'

Spooky, I did it through USDA NRCS's EQIP program.
I used the NRCS Practices 422, Hedgerow for pollinators with Practice 484, Mulching (the landscape fabric).

Default Pollinators at local nursery

I love this nursery because it is huge and is not a big box store. I saw these guys today. I assume one of them is a hummingbird moth, but I'm not that familiar with them. The bee was on Salvia Blue Spires.

Oh! How cool is that hummingbird moth. Something I have only read about and seen online. It sure looks like one. Your lucky day!

Default Photobomb!

I was in the backyard this morning, seeing if I could find any butterflies or bees to photograph. I was chasing a Gulf Fritillary around a Passionvine when this guy decides to photobomb the butterfly.

Default Underside of Gulf Fritillary

This butterfly was hanging upside down on a firecracker fern. Photo taken at a neighborhood nursery.

You have gorgeous butterflies. Nice pics, I love to see the undersides too, often a strange kind of camo. They fold up, and become an old leaf...
