Drying Onions
I’ve read that the best way to dry onions is to lay them out on the ground in such a way that the tops lay over the bulbs to protect them from the sun. With the rain we have around here I’m not sure they will ever dry.
I’m thinking about putting them in the greenhouse to dry before hanging them in the cool garage. The greenhouse will get up to about 90 degrees. What do you think of this idea?

Jerry you only want to dry the onions for a few hours in the sun.
You can then bring them inside to cure. You may have already read this but here it is anyway. It is easier than me writing all of it. worth http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...9xtluXMX15kJIA |

I tie about 8 onions into a bunch with twine a bit above the base of the neck and tie them up in the garage for about 2-3 weeks then store them in the basement. You want the necks to dry completely, if you get a thick necked onion it may not dry/cure properly so just use those first because they will not keep nearly as long.
