Default Tomato tasting in Texas next Sat, June 18

Although this is already mentioned in the SETTFest subforum, I also wanted to give a shout out to those Texas gardeners newer to growing tomatoes or Tomatoville - and/or to those who might not visit that particular subforum that often.

Everyone is welcome, even if you don't have tomatoes to bring to the event. We would still love to have you there!

Really, all you need to do is show up and be prepared to have a good time just hanging out and tasting tomatoes. If you have some tomatoes to bring, great. If not, no worries at all. Snacks, drinks, and covered dishes are always appreciated. Whatever you can bring ...

Details on the tasting can be found here:

My wife and I are coming with our sons, Michael Jr. and David, and David's wife Eliza. Michael Jr. was the only one that couldn't come last year.

Looking very forward to seeing you and the family again, Michael!
...

I also want to mention that if folks are willing to stick around until things start to wind down for the tasting (around 3-3:30 or so) there will be plenty of tomatoes left over if you would like to take some home. This is not only welcome, but encouraged. In fact, it helps us out a lot - because then there is less to clean up.

Edit/add - we also bring plenty of gallon ziplock bags so that you can take any cut tomatoes home too and use them later to make sauce. Recipe for oven roasted sauce (http://www.settfest.com/2009/06/oven...-tomato-sauce/) and threads about it here (http://www.tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=11841)
