Your plants look great. The “wispy” is genetic, goes along with the elongated shape, you find most hearts and many pastes and plum shapes will have it. Wispy potato leaf foliage is fairly rare and it does have an odd look

Narnian, if you have mature green fruit you will see some colour soon I would think Taiga is around 75 days to maturity for me or sometimes less
The first ones can be pretty big, a pound each maybe, later ones are smaller.
I hope they turn for you soon.

The temps are incredibly low for this time of the year :-(
I have varieties that have shiny glossy fruits hanging on the vine but they do not change color at all... If cherry tomatoes are stuck, how much more large beefsteaks and hearts..

Next year, I'll focus entirely on cherries and other small-sized varieties..
(I say that every season, but forget all about next spring..)

It’s only August 1, still plenty of time. Ripe large fruit before August is unusual in a northern garden in general. Here’s hoping the weather warms a bit for you

Karen, I know there is still at least one month left. However, it has been an unusual cold summer, this week around 13C during the day. In that kind of temps, fruits only 'hang in there' without getting any blush.
I have had ripe fruits in July during a more normal summer, grown on a veranda next to a brick wall. It tends to get too hot when the sun is really shining, but it is ideal during most days.

maybe try picking one and bring it in the house where its warm see what happens

The two smaller fruits had less than 10 seeds each, some were not quite mature. However, the large fruit was very interested in procreating itself. Quite a good seed supply from that one plant, and the gel added to the rich flavor.



The second wispy plant should reveal it's true color(s) soon.

I should add that the plant out date was approx 1-1/2 weeks before the hail storm on May 29.It was cold for a long period, and has been miserably hot ever since.

That's what I'll do if the cold weather continues.

Smaller fruited varieties are OK hanging on the vine, but I have learned that large ones can begin to rot from the inside .... :-(

The whole family loved it. To me it tasted like a very good bi-color, balanced with sweetness and very slight acid. Very pleasant taste if you eat as a fruit by itself (as an apple). My husband said it's a very sweet and pleasant taste. You've done a very good job thru the years! In my climate it's one of the earliest to ripe. So far the plant is healthy. Many thanks!

This is my 5000th post here on Tomatoville and fitting that it should be here on my True North thread!
I have learned so much on this forum and have tried to contribute as well.
Many people have been helpful and encouraging in my efforts with learning how to create some new tomatoes and it is such a pleasure and delight to see others growing them and finding them worth the space in their gardens. It has been my passion.

Hello everyone, some photos of the True Colors tomato (74 days).
Beautiful medium-to-large heart-shaped tomatoes (292 grams). Perhaps it is not very productive for me, perhaps it is reason that I raised too late.
I loved the taste, next year I will be in my garden again, its taste reminds me of one of my favorites of all (Captain Lucky).
It is a real delicacy for the palate, Karen congratulations, very good work, it is a unique tomato.
