Default Water stressed and freeze protection?

I just got home from work and see several tomatoes needing water, some are wilted. But there is a good chance of a freeze tonight, you think the plants would have a better chance of withstanding the freeze if I let them remain under water stress?

NO the best thing you can do is water thoroughly.
