Was cooking homemade corn beef hash this morning and heard loud bird cries..thought maybe was wild turkey, which in Florida, I never see..anyway was surprised to see a few wild peacocks walking through the yard catching knats and scratching the grass for worms...glad my son was here to take pictures..they are not scared of humans and my son had one taking bird seed from his hand. They sure have a loud bird call.

oh wow, they sure are beautiful. make a big mess but they are beautiful. don't feed them though. anything they catch is okay but feeding them is a no no. I had a friend who felt sorry for a peafowl a few years ago as it was roaming the neighborhood. it hung around and damaged someones car.. the neighbors took them to court to pay the repair bill for the paint job.

I once had a year when I too had a huge variety of birds. From Cockatoo's to Peacocks and everything in between. The Peacocks were 3, a beautiful male that looked like yours, a gorgeous white one and a female. They were feeding under my bird feeder. I too took pictures and enjoyed the view. The next day I went to the grocery store and there was a Lost Notice for someone missing 3 Peacocks. I don't know if they ever found them. If I had seen the birds again, I would have called.

My guess is that these are someone's tame birds that decided to take a little field trip.

Thanks so much for sharing these pics. I enjoyed them.

Beautiful birds, and I know what you mean by their loud calls. Around here I doubt they would last long because of the coyotes, fox and bobcats.
