My Season has started
We had a lot of frosts here in Australia around the time I usually start sowing my tomato seeds, so I held off for a month to start. The majority of my seed was getting a bit old, as I haven't planted any tomatoes in the last few years due to work commitments (growing tomatoes) and my seed isn't as viable as I'd have liked. I've planted quite a few varieties in the hope I can get a plant growing for fresh seed and I'm happy to get one seedling on a few varieties. I'll look forward to a great growing season, one way or another.

Good to hear McSee, shall keep an eye on this thread. I will have more seedlings than I need if you want a few.

Thanks Woz, but I think I'll have plenty. A few varieties I've got at least one seedling, so that's all I need really, as most are for seed saving. I keep my Blog updated, even just a line or two so I can keep up with what I'm doing. :-)

I got off to a slow start with germinating old seed, but I'm getting there now with a few more varieties still germinating on the heat mat. I've got a few new ones for me, plus some old favorites from what seems an eternity ago.
I spent the last 7 years growing hydroponic tomatoes at a College that teaches horticulture, with a year before that actually studying horticulture there, so didn't grow a lot in this time. Here's where I'm at, as of this morning. Last edited by mcsee; September 20, 2018 at 06:14 AM. |

Thanks Ray. Some varieties were a no show, some I got one or two seeds to germinate, others I'd saved myself I got great germination on. The idea here was to sow as much as I could, then grow what I can to replenish my seed supply.

Mcsee what varieties did you get a no show on, is there a possibility that they are in what you sent to me several years ago.
