Growing veggies in a kiddie pool

Hi Everyone. Newbie here....trolling and learning. I am a senior, retired science teacher and need advice. Can anyone share their experience with the kiddle pool method of planting veggies?. Tomatoes in particular. Thanks for any suggestions,
