You're telling her to drench her plants in an highly acidic solution before even understanding what the problem is. It's nuts but it must be okay because Worth didn't manage to kill his plants with it. Back off and wait until we figure out what is actually wrong.

And foliar uptake does not work with peppers. It works with tomatoes, but the pepper leaf has a much more impervious upper surface.

Michele, what happened? Smashed down by rain? Peppers are tough. I've seen (vicariously) plants flattened by hail get back up, with a little help, and go about their business.

How bad was the witch?

These were tall plants and well branched. I had stakes there to support them but the branches were heavy because of all the peppers. We had 80 mph gusts and the branches just snapped off. Most of the peppers are really small but I had at least 50 peppers on just two plants.

It's such a mess out there. I'm going to have to pull all the summer stuff out and start again with some greens for fall.

The whole yard is a mess with branches down and leaves everywhere. My landscape crew will get the yard cleaned up this week but I'll have to do the veggie garden myself.

Our power was out most of the day yesterday but I was able to watch a couple of football games once my hubby got the generator going. Kept the fridge cold and we were able to keep the phones charge and a fan and one computer going. Not too bad, considering.

Oh that's too bad. We hear more about the flooding than the wind. I guess it's easier to film water than air. If a branch had nearly ripe pods you can hang it up and see if the pods ripen. People do this successfully when hit by an early frost.

I think new houses should come with built-in generators.

Well, this house was built in 1957 and we did discuss adding a whole house generator when we bought it, but because it's a 2 story with 3 A/C units, we decided it wasn't worth the cost. So we just use our portable one.

The other big problem with these storms here is the salt spray. The veg garden just never really recovers from it.

This particular storm did cause flooding issues. The wind basically pushed the ocean up into the Chesapeake Bay.

I drove around the neighborhood today and checked out all the damage. Lots of trees down and some trees were just split in half. What a mess. The city is going to have a lot of debris to pick up this week.

I did run over to the garden center and get some seedlings for fall greens, so I'll get the garden cleaned up and then get those things planted. My shorter peppers like pimentos did survive and will go until frost in November, but my poblanos are all done for this year.
