This is my first year and I decided to start with all dwarfs. I didn't grow them from seed, but picked up seedlings last week at the local plant show. (I am growing other veggies from seed.)

KayJay, there's nothing wrong with your list, so much of this is about self exploration and learning which varieties you like and don't like and which one's grow better for you in your zone/area...

After this season you'll know which varieties you'll want to grow again in '17.

My Everglades are finished for the year here in Miami. The bloody butcher never made it into the pots. I have to wait for October here to plant but I need to do some heavy prep to the pots. I found dry cat food works wonders. I will try a mix of the cat food, Tomato tone, and epsom salts.

I have published my list months ago. Now they are fruiting.
But today I was Frey Meyers . They had some miserable lanky root bound plants for 99 cents each.
There was some Juliets. What the heck. I bought one. I always wanted to grow one Juliet. Now I got it with several flowers on It.

I loosened up the roots in water and planted it real deep in a 6 gallon pot.
I am determined to revive it.

Gardeneer, for me, I first thought to experience a gardening season like that in WA would be somewhat like walking on Mars. But in the same thought - growing here in Texas at this time is watching tomato plants die as newly started ones are growing at incredible rates. Here you need to hurry up and get the spring plants out because the fall garden tomato plants are pushing for an in-ground garden space.

It is different, but in-a-way, it's the same. You can still plant new tomato plants and so can I. The timing and conditions are different, but somewhat alike.

Robert, you are right about growing tomatoes in NW WA. Our summer is just beginning. The highs are around mid 70s and night low around 53F. July and August will be a bit warmer and September will be like June. By mid October we will be done because of cool weather.

So my Juliet still has a chance to prove itself.

I am in a situation right now that I might move to NC (zone 8a) . where there is acres of land to garden. There and then it will be an all new ball game. I have gardened in zone 7b in GA and I know what it is like back there.

How are your Gogosha and Olena Ukrainian plants growing this year?

I grew both side by side a few years ago and came to the conclusion
they were the same tomato with different names, Both are beefsteaks,
pink, potato leaf, indeterminate, midseason, with similar sized fruit,
same plant structure and leaf color. Both have Ukrainian heritage.
I can't recall how the fruit tasted.

Will you share your thoughts on these two varieties?
