Not as far as I know in Raleigh - I know that there is a group in Burlington NC (not too far from here) that are looking at a date for a big tasting - was originally going to be August 12, but things (as usual in NC) are happening faster and current date is July 22. It is not yet confirmed. There is also going to be a big tomato festival/tasting in Charlotte NC on the weekend of July 29 - details are being worked out. I will be attending both events...

Not sure if anyone else in the Raleigh area is planning any tastings - but a major Tomatopalooza like event is not in the works, I think (Lee, any comments?)

No event is planned for this year. Too many other things going on to commit the time needed to organize the event.

Haven't heard of any of the others going on locally. Sounds interesting though!

Reads like a script from the Andy Griffith show.
You really do need to name a tomato after Aunt Bee.

There is going to be a tomato tasting at a farm in Burlington NC - July 22, from 3-5 PM....more info to come as I confirm how "open" it is (meaning how many tomatoes they have to taste). I will be there as a guest and will answer questions and sell books (and taste tomatoes!)

How is the heat situation in North Carolina.

I have found in my travels over the United States with my Husband shows mostly People and Families from:Canada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Hawaii have a "Spiritual Family involved Love for Farming' with a Proud Country Hospitalital Spirit. I learned that kind of Love as a child in New Jersey from the Catholic Church in New Jersey. We have helped a Homeless Family the last 2 weeks trying to give back the Love that was given to me and my Family at their age
with a small kid. That Homeless man and wife wants to help on the Farm as they called today to say Thank You. .

What would you do Graig?

Dear Graig
We decided not to hire the Homeless family, because I would have to give them my salary, while I relax and just be at House Mom with our 6 year Old and bei free to commit of Tomatoville all day, and continue Studying the Law that is hard with Dyslexia, Amen!!.

I am just not ready to retire yet, Amen!! To me Farming is Relaxing even if the sun is running me away. But it was a Blessing to have a young family willing to Farm for you, Amen!! Maybe I will keep them close to me and continue to help with their 10 month old son, as some Family and Communities Still do in North Carolina. I pray everyday that "The Very Proud Country Hospitalital Spirit of North Carolina Never Changes, Amen!!!

I learned from you just ilke, I learned from Dr. Carolyn; and pray that you come back here someday.
