Default Leftover graft candidate.

Photo of a leafstem, removed from Kellog's Breakfast plant It is grafted onto "Supernatural" rootstock. It becomes necessary to remove the larger stems to ease grafting. Just did not want to waste the cut-off piece, and had one leftover rootstock. Dunno what to expect from this particular graft. But see no sign of it producing side shoots or fruit.

Not at all, Karen, but the ones that have ripening fruit do seem to have stopped growing. Maybe they don't get enough light.

I grew it for several years in a row from a few different sources a while back and the plants always had a lot of fasciation in the stems like I see in your photos. It was always quite early to ripen. This year I received some "old seeds that came from JD's son" and I'm still hoping to get at least one to germinate so that I can give it another try. Just planted the last seeds, soaked overnight, yesterday.

Micro dwarfs are Determinate but will likely send out some new laterals if you keep them alive. Picking these fruit and fertilizer will give them the idea that their job (making seeds) is not yet done. Will do better and grow fuller outside if you can put them out.
They are super cute.

Thanks, Karen- I'm kind of attached to them since they've been around since December..lol! I'll definitely follow your suggestion and as soon as it warms up, get them adjusted to life outdoors.

Default Creole

This kinda looks like a truss from a cherry plant, but it's not. This is going to be a banner year.

I planted a bunch in a 4 inch pot and they were slow to start. I only got one or two at first but after things started to warm up I ended up with a potful of seedlings.

I soaked a bunch overnight in water with a pinch of 'blue stuff' and got a bunch of them to germinate, so I'll grow a couple plants and save some seed this year. Thanks, Bill!

Here's the drill so far. Foliage is a bit sparse, keeping pruned in anticipation of heat, humidity, and rains in May.

First two pics are Rutgers
Second two are Indian Stripe PL
Third two are Big Beef
Last photo is a Black Cherry Rt, and another Big Beef Lt
