Works fine here, too, on a Mac with Safari.

I just fired up Chrome, and it doesn't work on that either.

I ordered some seeds about a week ago from Her site but now, tonight it gives me this: Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /seed-catalog/html/ on this server.

Just checked... still can't access it, same message... have tried at work and home, wireless and plugged in(?)... nice to know I'm not the only one stressed about a website being temporarily down.

Dear All,
I just saw the posts about the 'Forbidden' access issue - thank you so much for bringing it up! It is all fixed now, and it should work for everyone, unless your computer blocks port 88 and you cannot use proxy (a known issue that we unfortunately cannot fix with our current service provider). Sorry for the inconvenience it caused... I usually access TOMATObase myself every day, but today I was too busy at work to check, and I missed the issue. Tatiana

I was just about to go to bed when I noticed that Tania is online right now, so perhaps she'll be posting soon.

And I just checked and now do have access, which I haven't had up to now. And I hope you're getting a very clear picture of how many folks depend on your website. So kudos to you and all the hard work you've put in maintining the website, updating seed sources, adding new pages, growing not just tomatoes but other things as well, processing the seeds of all, selling your tomato seeds, packing them up, sending them out, well, sometimes I wonder how you do it all while still working. And now I can go to bed b'c we now have access to your website.

I've encountered the same problem for over a month now! Something to do with the administrator the error maessege claims.
I just tried it again and still can't log on to the site! Perhaps the server is over loaded? Thanks for such a wonderful site though, when its working anyway. Well done. Hope you figure out the problem soon. I went to local library last week and had no problems there. It's something to do with my software? Don't know. |

erlyberd,
Can you copy and post here what error message you get? The server is not overloaded now, it responds pretty quickly - so you must have something else there that I cannot figure out without seeing the error message you get. Also, please tell me which browser you use and if you are on Mac or PC. Thanks, Tatiana

Carolyn, It is so kind of you to say this! Thank you. It is very embarrassing to have TOMATObase website down or not responding - since we had to switch to a different service provider, we have been having all sorts of weird networking and access problems, not good! My husband has been looking for other service provider options, but unfortunately we do not have lots of choices as we have a special backup procedure to backup TOMATObase (can you imagine if something bad happens with the server and we have no backup??? ) , and this type of snapshot backup is not supported/allowed by many hosting services. Tania
