Smart pot watering

What would be the best, most efficient, and easiest way to setup watering for smart pots? - outside of manual.

I was thinking of tree ring soaker hoses? This seems like it would give uniform water delivery around a tomato plant.

If you're water is as hard as mine soaker hoses have a lifespan of about a week before they're clogged.
I had much better luck on large smart pots by making rings out of 1/4 inch drip line and staking them in the middle of the smart pot. For smaller pots I just used a 1 gallon per hour or adjustable drip emitter.

You can also put two drip emitters in each container, 2gph emitters will give you a gallon in 15 minutes.

Thanks for the input guys. My initial though with drip emitters is there wouldn't be uniform watering in the pots. But if the 'king' of smart pots AKmark says so then it must work!!! I'm always impressed, and jealous, to see your pics of the astounding quantities of tomatoes you grow way up north. And it would probably be a cheaper way to go than the tree rings, which aren't very cheap.

Thanks again guys, I had figured that some drip type of irrigation was probably the best but was just seeing if anybody ever used the soaker tree rings. Now I'll just have to figure out how often to water them based on how quickly they dry out here in OK weather.
