Ever wonder what that little hole in the end of a tap is for?
Well here it is being used in one of the ways it was meant to be used. Please take note the lathe is unplugged and everything I can put in neutral is in neutral. All of this is done by hand not power. This assures the tap starts straight. There are wood blocks locking the chuck. This is the second stop being made. There are the small taps that have no hole.
They go in a tap wrench that has the hole in the end of it or they will have a pin sticking out the back to put in a drill press or milling machine chuck. My smallest taps are 3-56 for shotgun sight beads. Worth |

I didn't think runner beans would still be flowering in July here in Texas. It's kind of funny in a way. I thought by all I read on runner beans that they would have been finished 2 months ago. They have to go anyway. This week is all about solarizing this area of the garden.

These two are the ones that produced the best looking seeds. Also more than the others.

I'm going to leave mine in the ground mulched over the winter so they will come back next year.

Here is an example of yard scalping.
Either his lawn mower broke down or he decided to stop. The poor man can't figure out why his yard turns brown in the summer even with tons of water put on it. I have asked him not to mow on my side anymore so it would stay green. And it is green and I haven't put any water on it. You can't se it in the picture because it is in the back.
