Lucky Cross
Just a quick question on leaf shape here. I know Lucky Cross is potato leaf, but I beleive I remember reading that people have experienced some variation ocasionally. Both plants are from saved seed in my garden last year so a cross is possible. Please see the pics below:
Potato leaf LC (what I expected from last year's leaf shape: The inigma (RL or variation of PL?): Thanks, RIK |

There can be quite a bit of variation in regular leaf, but that second shot is indeed regular leaf. The original cross was very wide and rich in variety, so there's been a really interesting range of appearanches emerging in the F2 and beyond.

Thanks Craig,
So you feel like the second plant is a true LC and not crossed with something else in my garden from last year? |

Great question, and impossible to answer! When growing out advanced generations of a "created" or accidental hybrid, unless you bag blossoms, it is really not possible to tell if an unexpected leaf type is just continuing segregation or a new hybrid!

Wow,
This could get complicated. I guess I'll just watch it and see what happens. Thanks again, RIK |
