Frühe Liebe - another early PL tomato
Started from seed on Jan 18, germinated on Jan 27, first flower 50 days from germination, and the first ripe fruit is 109 days from germination (23 days from transplanting to the GH) -
Apr 22 (after transplanting) May 22 - ripe fruit Quite a healthy little fella - resembles Kimberly and Glacier, but 7 days earlier than Glacier this year (I don't have ripe Kimberly yet, it was started a bit later).

Looks good. Taste?? Do the fruits have a 'point' on the blossom end like Kimberly? |

Andrey.....I have an "Early Love" from the Ukraine. When I read that German Fruhe Lidhe = Early Love, I
went outside to check mine........but it's not PL! Tania.......I will watch to see if the tomato of this RL Early Love is anything close to yours. It is already blooming so should be fairly early for me if I can ever get it in the ground........Patty |

Patty, I've never heard about Ukrainian or Russian tomato variety with the name Early Love or Rannyaya Ljubov' (in Russian). So it could be the same German variety, but crossed or something...

in 2006 SSE Yearbook, there is a tomato listed as Quedlinburger Frue Liebe (...but I think they mispelled 'Frühe'...), with the following description:
Quote:
Suze - I haven't tasted it yet; will do today and post the results. It better be good!

finally got around tasting the fruit - it is very good, sweet and has a bite at the same time (I am not good describing flavor, sorry )
I thought it was as good as Kimberly, if not better. Definitely a keeper!
