I'm starting to get hay fever which is a couple of weeks early for me. We've got all kinds of buds and blossoms growing. I hope my peaches aren't too early this year. We could still get a freeze in mid April.

The four nor'easters that ran up the coast this month mostly missed us here in the Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, but last night's storm got us. We got 15" of pure white snow laying beautifully on the mountains.

Okay, now I'm ready for it to melt!

Admire that gorgeous snowy scenery, since it may be the last you'll see in your area until next winter!

Beautiful pictures, Tom, but almost enough to make me shiver. Here, it's 88 and we are having some thunderstorms run over us. Even the rain is warmish, unusual for a spring storm here. So much for planting potatoes tomorrow, going to be too wet to play in the dirt if we get any more rain. I won't fuss, though, we have been short rain this last winter and need to keep the lakes up, and rebuild the ground water after the almost 7 year drought.

It is getting close to plant out time, the weather gorecast looks good down here.
Starting Tuesday night lows will stay over 43F. This will take us past our LFD. ie April 8th.
So come Tuesday, I will be planting my tomato seedlings. Full speed ahead

Thats how the weather is ; tomato friendly.
I,ll drink to that. Cheers !

I agree with you Rock, I was thinking the same thing. They are saying between 7pm tonight and 7pm tomorrow night we will get 3-4" of rain and possibly more. With rain forecast nearly everyday for the next week. I am glad it's before planting time this year. I am still about 3 weeks away. Last year we had 8" about a week after I planted my tomatoes.

Iowa Park, a few miles west of me, had downburst winds with a bad storm Sunday; took barn doors off and flew them, roofs have damages, and so on.

We have been getting intense rain off and on here, was caught out in it and could barely see even with my wipers on high. When I got in the parking lot, it was flooding some, little rivers over ankle deep, so I waited in the truck until it softened up.

Weather, one of my favorite subject, to talk about.
Finally today 3/27/18 i will start planting out. In the 15 day forecast there are no lows under 45F. And my seedlings have been fully hardened off.
Full steam ahead.

The sun is blazing here this morning with no cloud in the sky. Everything ice covered after the still and cloudless night that dropped to minus 10 C here inland. Forecast high today is +8C though. We are still snow covered though. It isn't really spring here until May, but we will enjoy more days above freezing in the weeks to come.

We've got rain for the foreseeable future. I'm never gonna get my cold weather veggies seeded.
