2014 Compact Dwarf tomatoes.

Hello Tomatovillians,

Here's a few pics of some of the compact dwarf tomato varieties (Anmore Dewdrop and Mohamed) that I've been growing indoors over winter here in NJ. I started them the last week of 2013.

They are good looking plants for indoors in the winter. Have they Blossomed yet?

Hey Doug, thanks!

This is my first time growing compact tomatoes indoors over winter. The Heat mat/Grow Lights + Natural lighting helped. They're just starting to form blossoms. Flowers just haven't opened/emerged yet. I'll keep posting pics though. Looking forward to having some cherry tomatoes hanging on them. It's definitely held me through this rough winter we had. I have to start my pepper seeds soon.

I will be trying out two "older" dwarf varieties (Lime Green Salad and New Big Dwarf) as well as two from the dwarf project (Rosella Purple and Sweet Sue).
I believe I saw in your thread last year that you liked both NBD and Sweet Sue. Needless to say, I am excited about all four!

Nice selection of Dwarf varieties you'll be growing. Yes I did grow New Big Dwarf, Dwarf Rosella Purple and Dwarf Sweet Sue last year. They're all quite good. Definitely regrowing them again this season. That Dwarf Sweet Sue is really productive. While the Dwarf Rosella Purple is the best flavored in my humble opinion. New Big Dwarf I've grown for the past several years, very reliable, not to mention a gorgeous plant with it's dark blue-green rugose leaves.

I have grown Anmore dewdrop and it is a very productive small determinate cherry with a vigorous tumbling habit and does well in hanging baskets. Tania stabilized it from a hybrid tumbler I believe. You'll like it I am sure

Great to hear! I am hoping that Rosella can replace Cherokee Purple for me taste-wise as I have very limited in ground space.

P.S. You're really making me want to try growing tomatoes indoors next winter!

Looking great, Alfredo! You're right, something green to look at can definitely help your mood! We never got any Winter to speak of here in Nevada! You got it ALL this time around... sorry about that!

Looks good! I have started Mohamed and Red Robin, the first is already quite sturdy and strong, the latter was slower to germinated but is on its way. Another variety is Russian one called Klyukve v Sakhare ('Sugard Cranberries), not sure if that is labeled as dwarf too, but it is supposed to be a compact one.
My Mohamed is getting almost to the stage it should be re-potted into its final resting (and growing) place, the only gripe will be that it is then too large to keep under growlights - and days are still shorter than needed.

Oh by the way, your Mohamed looks way larger than I thought that variety does - I thought it is a micro dwarf..? Apparently not?

I'm growing a couple dwarfs this spring, I hope they end up looking as good as your do

Finally have some cherry tomatoes on both the Mohamed and Anmore Dewdrop varieties, and I have my tomato seedlings growing already for this 2014 growing season. Will post some more pics soon.

Yeah it helped me to deal with this rough winter we had here in the Northeast. Ugh so glad it's over.
