Yep! We can be hard headed. Glad I'm not that way.

Garden seems to be doing much better. We have had rain the last few days and it's breaking down the alfalfa pellets nicely. There are 2 plants that are not growing well compared to the rest and are half the size of the others.A early girl with a small tomato on it and a Purple Cherokee that like the early girl is not as deep green as the others.I grew all my plants from seed and these might be weak plants.I went to a local nursery and picked up 2 replacements but with all the rain the past few days will hold off replacing the 2 plants until the ground dries up.Picking up a thermometer tonight after work.

I used to soak alfalfa pellets in a 5 gallon bucket with molasses and water for a few days/ 2 weeks, stirring it everyday. Kept it in the sun, and howdy! it sure stunk!!

But my trees and roses loved it dearly and did quite well with it, the neighbors not so well for a day or so.

This is close to a fish bait I am going to make.
Takes about 2 weeks.
Once it is made you toss it out and the fish come running.

I made some this past March when my plants were seedlings.Handfull of pellets in a half gallon milk container. After a few weeks it had a barnyard smell that was strong.Took a while for the smell to leave your skin if it got on your hands.

Worth, is that "stink bait"? when we went to TX this past Winter we bought some of that and it disappeared from right outside the room door ... never did even find the bag or container. no one else was there and it was a fishing place so it wasn't like anyone would have thought it was trash. I think an animal took it... nasty odoriferous stuff.

More like a fish attractant made up of ground up millet/milo and ground up shrimp left to sit in a bucket for about two weeks with yeast.

Now I'm wondering if Plant Tone would make a good bait.

We had 2 good rainy days the past 2 weeks and my garden has improved greatly.I replaced 2 plants due to roots that were in standing water. The plants I replace with I did not plant as deeply.I have been putting grass clippings that sat for a week and turned brown through out my garden as a mulch and more alfalfa pellets in the rows between my plants.Things are looking up.
