Looking for another?

I just bought a house so I have more dirt!

I can grow it on the upstairs deck in an earthbox so it is isolated. I will start in April so I catch the later heat here.

OK, I couldn't wait and started seeds on the 18th. Couldn't help myself. I will keep you posted and document with pictures. I'm calling it "Marc's Purple Cross" for the time being.

Hi marc

I planted my purple cross seeds and put them on my heat mat. It has been about two weeks now and none of them germinated. Have had no problems with my other seeds being up in about 5-6 days. Not sure why!

I, too, have not been able to germinate the seeds you sent. I started seeds on 3/12 with no success, started a few more 3/21, fingers crossed they sprout!

Ten days in and no sign of germination here either. I only planted three seeds though. If those don't pop up in the next week I will start the rest of the seeds with my second sowing on May 1st.

As I stated in an earlier post, I was going to do a trial run on these seeds to check germination results. Last Saturday the 24th, I placed 14 seeds in moist papertowls, covered in tinfoil and placed in a warm location. Today, 4 days later I see 7 are germinating. I'm hopeful that by the end of the week there will be more.

I'm really sorry you all are having trouble. I wonder if anything happens during mailing that could impact the seeds. I've mailed plenty of seeds without problem. I just can't explain your difficulty.

I'm not giving up. Sometimes seeds are slow. I will give these another week. When I try the remaining seeds, I will use the paper towel method.

After about three weeks i finally got one out of 11 purple cross seed to germinate. It looks good and is growing in my green house. Hope to plant it out into my garden in two or three weeks.

Glad to hear it. Hope you get something real good.

It turns out, that I actually had 16 seeds in my little test package, not 14 as I first thought. As of today, 1 week later, 11 have germinated.

Today, I'm starting all my seeds indoors. About 1000 seeds. 60 of them will be Purple Cross. Let you know in a couple weeks how many popped.
