Default Is this a Disease?

The first pictures are of my fall tomatoes. The last two pictures are of a volunteer plant that is growing in the shade. It came up back in early May. All pictures taken a few minutes ago.

The plants looked green and healthy until about 10 days ago. On that day, it rained 1 inch. Sense then, it has been 100F hot, so I have been shading the plants from the mid day scorching sun.

I got this message instead. ? I'll go take pictures with my old Nintendo DS and try-try again.

Details:

I do not water the leaves.
I water every other day in the evening.
Plants are shaded because of how hot it has been.
I use liquefied miracle grow plant food every 2 weeks

I hope someone will answer you but if it had been me I would have posted what you did in the Pest and Disease Forum, where it might have gotten more attention.

difficult to tell from the photo's but definitely looks fungal. grey mold, possibly powdery mildew.
first, always immediately remove any diseased foliage as soon as you can. there are lots of threads here about spraying for fungal problems. Better to water in the early morning so any water that is on the foliage dries before nightfall. also, a layer of clean mulch such as grass clippings or wood chips, etc, something clean and dry spread under the plants will help prevent splashing of soil with the fungus spores it contains up onto the foliage. it will also conserve moisture.
hope that helps.

Salt I call it the summer plague.

I have no idea what the real name is.
What I do is keep amputating the things untill it goes away or the plant dies.
And I only do it if I have tomatoes on the plant or if they are smaller fruited types like cherry tomates.

I dont waste my time trying to pull a plant through till fall otherwise.
By the way no worries about posting pictures on the other areas to ask questions or show off.

The original poster has moved his first post and pictures to the Pest and Disease Forum, so best to catch up with it there.

Salt, would you like me to delete this thread or leave it here?

Carolyn, please leave it. What KarenO and Worth posted means a lot to me. It is worth it to me to bare the embarrassment of posting in the wrong place because I got their valued replies.

I want this thread to stick around for future Tomatoville members to see. Thank you for your offer. I cannot thank you enough.

I will leave it and that's why I asked your permission first.

Know that you will have two identical threads as to your same first posts looking for answers which could be a bit confusing to some folks. But I will gladly honor your request to leave this one.

And you shouldn't be embarrassed at all posting first in this Forum,it does happen from time to time, but one of my jobs, if you will, as a Moderator is to move posts and threads around where they would be seen by more folks, meaning greater visibilty with hopefully more answers.
