In no particular order, here are the ones I am growing this year. I have one open spot, which I leave to you, the members in good standing here at T-ville, to suggest. I will grow the variety that is suggested by the most people, assuming I have it in my collection (which is about 500 varieties).

I would cast my vote for "Grandma Oliver's Chocolate". You must grow this one sometime soon. It is just "wonderfully different" with complex flavors that are over the top. This is a real "thoroughbred". The perfect balance of sweetness and acidity makes Cherokee Purple seem like a "sour puss".

Hi,

500 varieties? That's a fantastic collection!

I really must explore more tomato varieties, as I am clearly missing out! I guess I was unaware of the volume of tomato strains.

I don't have any suggestions but I am eager to see what people recommend and also read up on the varieties you posted.

I'll recommend "Shadow Boxing - Type 4". And, here's a picture of it. Folks who haven't tried this one will wonder why they waited so long. Compact size plants load up and the taste rivals the best - slightly sweet but full and complex with a subtle smoothness.

KBX is already on my list; I grow that one every year. Looks like Sungold looks to be the most recommended thus far. I've grown it before, but it's a hybrid, so I didn't save seed. I do have some that I received in a trade, though. Keep the suggestions coming. Of those suggested thus far I do not have Shadow Boxing, Orange Jazz, Blush, or Owen's Purple. Not sure about African Queen without looking at my list, and I'm not at home now.

I think Owen's Purple is available right now from an offer by Gardenboy, and is highly recommended; haven't grown it yet myself but it's on my list. Check the trade available forum if interested.

Looking at your grow list, I suggest Chocolate Cherry, just because it's better than Black Cherry (

), Black Prince, or Jutland. All consistent winners here.

That's a surprise. I thought "Shadow Boxing" (the unstable ones that made the rounds) had basically disappeared.

Well, I've grown this one 3 times and have always had the one I pictured. As long as I'm having a garden, I will keep this one going. The taste is too good to let it get away. And my one plant (first time) put on approx. 4 dozen fruits. How could I let one with those characteristics fall aside. I'm growing it again this coming season.
