Default State record giant watermelon

Thought you all might enjoy this. This weekend, in Hamilton, Ohio, I broke the Ohio State record for giant watermelon. I named her Lucille and fretted and fussed over her all summer long. My hard work paid off. Isn't she glorious!

I used to have to pick them when I was a kid working for a local farmer and some of them used to look that big to me then; but of course I was only 12 at the time.

That is huge!!!!!

Congratulations on a job well done.

Wow! well done, Barbee. My largest was about 30 pounds this summer, but that was large enough. I can't even begin to imagine growing one this size. Congratulations! BTW, how much larger was it than the previous melon?

That is one impressive watermelon. What is the secret to growing a watermelon that big?

How long does it take to eat a 300 lb. watermelon? And, how do you fit it in the refrigerator?
