Default Squirrel Hot Sauce Repellent-Have you used it?

My garden has already been eaten twice this spring, and I am on my third try. Apparently chicken wire and netting over the top of my garden was not enough to keep the critters out. I think I have a family of young squirrels that are really hungry. Circling my plants with blood meal and sprinkling this mint smelling stuff seems to be doing the trick right now. I've read about hot pepper spray and I want to make some. But, won't my veggies taste like hot sauce?

Thanks of sharing your experience with hot sauce repellent.
