Default vinegar experiment...

Not sure where to really put this but I want you all to try it and see what happens... you know how we all struggle with "green tomato hands" when pruning suckering picking etc on the tomatoes and it doesn't wash off unless you have a fairly soft/bad tomato to scrub with? I keep a jug of vinegar in my sink by the shed to wash my trays pruners hands etc with.. I just happened to discover that vinegar water cleans the green stains right off... I just pout in a big splash of vinegar and fill up a dishpan with water and scrub up my hands.

It also works really well on any clothing with green tomato leaf stains. Spray with vinegar as it goes into the wash.

Oh man I need to try this! I am in black thumb country now. Takes no handling at all and the stains are not coming off with soap...

Thanks - so I can have a green thumb without having a green thumb and forefinger?

Yah, me too. I spent another day working out in the garden.. cleaning up and pruning/thinning tomatoes inside the high tunnel and out in the garden... I just took my shower and my hand (right one of course) is still black even after scrubbing with soap and a washcloth. now I am off to the kitchen to wash again with vinegar.

I find that baking soda and dish soap work better on my hands than vinegar.
