Desperately seeking Romeo (the giant paste tomato) 😄
Hi all! This is also my intro post; I am in southeastern Nebraska and have been growing tomatoes for about 30 years. In recent years I also started producing tomato starts of unusual varieties for friends, and finally started selling them since growing 200+ starts a year is a lot of work!
I made a big error last year since I did not realize that Peters Seed and Research had disbanded. I planted the last of my Romeo seeds (indeterminate giant Roma non-hybrid) and did not save seeds. I have searched seed sources in the U.S. for weeks, and only found the seed in Canada, but the producer does not ship to the U.S. Does anyone have some seeds saved that would be willing to trade? From Peters Seed I have Golden Treasure and Ruby Treasure, which are supposed to be long-keeping storage varieties suitable for keeping one in fresh-ish tomatoes up through February. I also have a several dozen other seed varieties; once I figure out Tomatoville I will put a list somewhere! |
