41N,
Good points and suggestions. Personally, I'm satisfied with the coverage the GPL license provides - I would be happy with a credit line and link back to the source as required under the GPL license. Although, I believe Tania has posted additional stipulations pertaining to photos used on her site. Steve |

Thanks, I haven't checked the whole site but they have removed the ones I am aware of. I promised myself I'd get some work done on my own website today so I'll check out Reimers again in a week or two. Hopefully, they will get Suze's removed asap.

Playing with the Google search by image, I tried the SSE picture of Black Sea man. Guess what? It shows up on Reimer Seed also. And on few other commercial websites...
Please note that the first two links here are not matches by image, but by search string, so these two folks are not using the picture. But the rest are! http://www.google.com/search?tbs=sbi...bih=1076&gbv=2

You were lucky to get a response from them at all. I emailed them this spring because from two packages of pepper seeds I ordered, I only got two sprouts out of one package and none out of the other. I made several different attempts to germinate, bottom heat and all, never had anything like that before. I never got a response, and I will never order from them again.

I am following this thread with great interest. I enjoy taking nice pictures of my tomato varieties and love sharing them with fellow gardeners but it really honks me off when I see my photo on Ebay or Amazon. The thing that upsets me is that no one even bothers to ask for permission of using my photo, and I would gladly let them I only they'd ask...
So I guess I have to start watermarking my photos, which in my opinion ruins a photo, but if it has to be done, I just don't see another way... Tatiana and others, you are fighting for a good cause, keep up the good work, I'm a 100% behind you!!! |

Reimer Seeds is a shady outfit and has been, for years.
Why anyone would spend one red cent with them when there are so many better choices, is beyond my comprehension.
