Default How Could This Happen?

A few years ago, this tomato started growing new plants inside it. I cut it open and took this picture with my old Nintendo DS.

I hope the pictures/images show up for everyone. I never saw the paperclip looking thing to click on near the emoticons.

I've seen this before in a butternut squash and in an apple.

I was amazed when I had this happen to one of my tomatoes. Thanks RayR for the identification.

Vivipary and one out 10,000 hmm, Thank You RayR.

Before I cut into that tomato - it just looked odd. I inspected it very close and did not see any holes, cracks, or anything to suggest that some sort of worm or bug had gotten inside, but I was still thinking something had gotten inside. I cut it and well, you see the results. The tomato was also super wet inside and had an odor sort of like a vitamin C tablet.

Okay, thanks guys

I've seen it happen from time to time in supermarket tomatoes, but never from any of my homegrown ones.
