Default Here comes the heat, canopy up!

A bit over 90 today and still warmer tomorrow.
Here's my 50% shade cloth canopy that I just completed...will be using this for the 90s. 75% will be going up for the upper 90s-100s. These brass grommets have hot-glue around them before they were tacked down to avoid ripping. Should have rotated the hooks backwards to avoid pop-out but that can be easily remedied should that start to happen.

Very nice construction. I like the quick-disconnect fasteners you used, so you can put it up / take down as conditions require.

I am simply using a section of Cooleraoo fabric stapled to a few 1x2 boards, with zip ties to hold them on to the top of my cages (pic from last year):

Will be putting mine up in the end of June timeframe.

Thanks rnewste! With the wife, quick disconnects was a must.

I like your setup, very efficient...I saw it on another post and it inspired me to get rolling on something so thanks for that!

Both setups are very nice. Something for me to think about here in the DC area. We're supposed to be in the low 90's at the end of the week. Last week was just the opposite, lots of rain and temps in the 60's for a few days. My eggplant and peppers are not very happy right now.
