It's now a Hurricane @ noon today. The ABC and NBC weathercasts are saying it could be a category 3 when it hits land between Galveston and Corpus Christi.

Not likely but if the Houston area gets evacuated I won't be able to get to work.
The highways going by Bastrop are major routes. Worth |

As if the immediate impacts of the hurricane along the coast may not be bad enough, the worst part may indeed be the expected stalling once inland with tremendous rainfall amounts--Allison-esque, if not possibly even worse. Take care of yourselves and families Texans!

Don't forget to spray with Daconil, looks like bad fungus conditions.

I've been to Texas City. It's right on the gulf near Galveston.
Texas is so big. A local DFW forecaster just said that Hurricane Harvey wouldn't effect this area at all. |

Many storm models are predicting the storm to come on land right north of Corpus Christie, other side of the bay. That is where abouts Rockporter lives. Not sure if it will stall or what it will do so far.
H. Carla came in at about the same and carried it's self all the way to the great lakes and out through Labrador in 1961, terrible damages and spun off many tornadoes |
