I run out of J D C-Tex Seeds yearly because my JD C-Tex Black Tomato Plants do not live as long as the Heirloom Tomatoes. My Plant stayed """healthy""" all summer until this week.
Do you know if this is Normal? I am so glad I did not eat them up on my way home from my Tomato Farm. I would not have an Inventory for 2025, Amen!

JD’s is susceptible to gray mold like many other black tomato varieties. Use a copper spray regularly and it will help. The bleach spray will also work but you need to know how and when to apply it. JD’s is also susceptible to fusarium wilt.
It is my favorite black tomato for flavor and size my next favorite black tomato is Spudakee. For sheer numbers of fruit Indian Stripe potato leaf is king; but it is the most vulnerable to gray mold of the three. Bill |
