Best Heart varieties for 7 -10 gallon ??

aha ! some varieties that keep being mentioned ...ahah !

I did try dwarf Purple Heart ...and got some Large fruit ..

but it did not produce like EM Champion I will maybe try again.

geese now I have to research the hearts ...all these Picks !

BlackBear, 6-7 C is 42-44F and is cold! 95F is 35C.

To grow a fall garden here, you need to plant tomato plants out in 40C weather with high humidity in July and eventually very low humidity in August that temperatures can easily reach 43C. When planting, you have to remember that these plants will be producing in October and November which is getting close to the winter solstice. Being that we have big tall oak trees blocking out the sun in fall...

Carolyn, I know what you mean-I get attacked all the time-even over what I eat for crying out loud. Got a few attackers/mockers on Ignore. Too bad I couldn't ignore the mod who "scolded" me for asking people not to post about eating rabbit. Sc-r-w her. And I'd be proud to be evicted, haha, over this post!

And every once in awhile you can get some tips and insights from others that save you years of trials and explorations to improve your tomato outcomes .

Please don't throw Tomatoville out the window even if I misname a new variety.LOL

Anyway you can see things are c-c-cold here for the next 5-7 days

which makes EM Champion and Velmozha stand out even more for me this season.

Well I plan to try and improve my Tomato outcomes this year

by discussing tomato related Topics on Tomatoville .

And I plan to grow many varieties of.....Tomatoes....

and still after all that .....

I Plan to Eat many Tomatoes.....

In this particular Thread I plan to do all the above with Heart Tomatoes

I'm growing Danko for the first time this year in a 7 or 8 gallon container. It has always been on my patio and gets shaded from the hottest part of the day. VERY productive, with many of the tomatoes being large to very large. Its STILL setting. Good flavor. I was looking for a tomato I could grow in a container and use for sauce. This is it.

I forgot to say I tried Cuor Di Bue last year ...and it was in a 10

and was a notable good one ......I think it is Italian ? Cuor Di Bue is worth a try !

Black Bear Heart would probably be interesting if it came to be.

I did try them before ... Black Bear ... "undt they vas goot"

nice Black fruit in a rather compact indeterminant vine...I tried them in direct ground ...but maybe I should give them a try in the 7-10 gallon set up...???

I haven't tried it in a container, yet, but I'm growing it in the ground, this year. Sounds like it might work, though, but I don't have experience. I'm curious how the taste will compare with my other black tomatoes, this year. It's good to know it's compact, as I planted it with my determinates. I thought it was determinate for some reason (I guess I didn't research it much). I'm only growing one container with tomatoes this season (granted, it's large and I have three plants in it). The rest are in the ground.

there aren't very many compact/determinate hearts out there. I think the world needs a few more, especially maybe some PL ones.... hmm

Yes,lots of experience since I'm the one who introduced it back in 2008.

Really, Deborah that is a very rude post. If I may ask, if this is such a bad place for you and you feel "attacked", why are you here on this site? You post ugly things, like your quoted post above, and then try to play the victim card. You bring your own troubles on yourself.

BTW, I still need more tomato trellising, if you will get down off that cross, I can use the wood.
