Here is my first container grown tomato for 2010. Sadly, I have not tasted it. When I took the seeds, it was pretty mealy and mushy. I think I picked it way too late

Well it looks good, so that must have been a disappointment! There's always hope later fruits will have improved taste. I think that often happens.

TALON,
I have no idea re: taste, as I used all of it for seed . But texture was mealy. Again, probably my fault.

I have never even tasted a "purple tomato or black" in my life. I am growing a Cherokee Purple, and a Brandywine for heirlooms Will I be surprised? >>>>>>>>>>>>> Talon

Talon, not sure about Brandywine (growing it for the first time this year), but Cherokee Purple is a must grow in my garden ever year since I first tried it (this will be the 4th season).
