IDK, I plant with the patio/small scale person in mind. I sell/give away a lot of seedlings. Often just 1-4 at a time. I know at least three people I gave plants to are growing in pots. But I just plan to go crazy with the dwarf category.

Very true. I was expecting ~40 back, got over 200!

I will second a potato leaf category.

I know Tormanto already thinks of me as being sacrilegious.. But how about a category called 'Varieties you wouldn't even want your enemies to try'?

That way, we might get some interesting tomatoes...!

Call it Your Spitter category for short. The ones you personally think are too tart, acidic or so sweet they make your teeth hurt.

Your right though, a couple I didn't care for too super sweet for me has been perfect for feeding kids. To them it tastes like candy, only healthy.

I just started the fermentation part of saving some F2 seeds (But for the Mystery part of MMMM - I won't say which variety) Hint - I started a thread a week ago named after the F1.

Is there any interest in growing F2s? I like not knowing what shape/size/color the fruit might be. Most of the F2s I've grown produce good tasting tomatoes. The bags I send in will be Very clearly marked F2.

Me personally I don't mind F2's or any other F's. My thinking is they need to be grown out. Who knows the next best tomato everybody should have may be in those f2's and up.

I wouldn't have found my second favorite tomato of the season if not for an F something or other. Heck, besides the Ambrosia Blue producing three types of tomatoes, I had a chocolate pear that had commercial company name with it and got three sizes of tomatoes and one a different color. Great way to start learning about genetics all these surprises. : )

You're fine. You're Fin, too.

It's your taste buds that are warped. My guess is that it was too many "candy days" of your youth. All that ammonium chloride in the Salmiakki has you craving someone's poison.

I'm not sure if this category would go over very well with others. I don't even need to give a name, as it can be the "" category.

No, I must protest.. Clearly it is you, sir, with warped taste buds... Anyone who doesn't recognize salmiakki as a delicacy, has a distorted perception of reality.

Besides, I never had candy days in my youth

I love the idea of trying some different F2s. That would put some extra mystery in the MMMM.

OK, it is me.

There's no way it could be more delicacies like...Sisu, Dracula Piller, Tervaleijona, Tyrkish Peber, Tervapirut, etc...

Beefsteak

Black - could use more varieties than the fairly common ones usually sent in

Blue - same comment as Black

Cherry/Grape/Currant

Determinate/Dwarf (mostly Dwarf Project)/Micro-Dwarf

Eastern European

Experimental - (non-commercial) F1's, F2's, etc...

Giant - 3 lb+ potential, there may not be very many varieties sent in

Green - same comment as Black

Heart

Hot Weather

Italian - same comment as Black, or this may have to combined with the Paste/Canner category

Knock-Your-Socks-Off

Oldies But Goodies - older varieties that are rarely seen/talked about anymore

Paste/Canner

Pink

Red

Striped

Very Early - 55 DTM or less

Yellow/Gold/Orange/Bi-color/Tri-color/White

and

*Cool Weather - maybe not enough demand for a category

*Novelty - maybe not enough varieties or demand for a category
Bumping this list, and adding...

Desert Island - Your ONE AND ONLY favorite variety (SunGold doesn't count)

Potato Leaf

Tribbles - heavily ribbed, pleated, ridged, scalloped, fluted, ruffled beauties

Did I miss any? Any more suggestions? I may start the 2016 MMMM thread about the first of August. So, I'd like to have the categories somewhat set.
